Alcantara is charged with conspiracy to traffic firearms and with making false statements about it when questioned by the ATF.

Note: He is charged with trying to sell firearms (presumably to prohibited persons). The fact that those firearms were homemade is secondary. The authorities and media are really hyping the “ghost gun” narrative.

“ghost gun” sounds spooky, and spooky increases ratings.

How long till they start referring to the ATF as "Ghost Gun Busters"?

Well, "Untraceable Guns For Criminals to Kill Cops With" doesn't have the same ring to it.

It does open up the narrative of whether 80% lowers and frames should be legal.

A conversation could be had on whether certain individuals should be prohibited from making homemade firearms. That conversation should not delve into the “kits” for a simple reason: where do you draw the line?Is an 85% upper prohibited? 80%?50%? 10%? What about just having the CAD files to 3d print?

Go after the people that are trying to skirt the law. Either so they can illegally possess or sell to someone who is. Don’t go down the slippery slope of where anyone in possession of a block of plastic or a computer file could be a felon.

Add to that:The authorities and media hype “ghost guns” because they’re untraceable. What they don’t tell you is that those same authorities are rarely able to trace a serialized firearm to the person who did the crime. It’s red herring.

What is the alternative?

The country that approves 650$ million in weapons sale to Saudi Arabia, 735 million in weapons to Israel, and 750 million in weapons to Taiwan, just last year, is prosecuting a guy who sold "dozens" of partially plastic handguns.

F$%^ Off Feds, you hypocritical POSs.
