Finland is about to enter into martial law because of omicron

God this is just insane. I feel like I'm living in some totalitarian state without any rights and liberty. The government is about start to move country into exceptional conditions and situation that would be nearly identical to martial law. That would mean that government has the right to close any business, prohibit movement of people, close the borders and force people to work.

And already almost every activity is prohibited here. Gyms, theaters, museums, universities and other places like them are closed. Restaurants and bars are allowed to be open until 6 pm. So the situation is already very bad. And the government is about to make it even worse. And basically this all is happening because hospitals might get much more patients and because 60 people are in the ICU (in whole country!).

I'm getting paranoid and conspiratorial because of this. I have a feeling that this has been the plan all along; to move countries to permanent lockdowns that can begin at any time despite the actual situation with COVID. This all looks like an attempt to gain even more control over people. Maybe the next step from the government is to force all of us into Metaverse. Maybe cops will start to arrest random people because they violate the new rules.

And my mental health is getting worse. I'm not sure if I can go on. This world is now just crushing me. I see how again the chances to get my life back are going away. And all that because of some politicians who don't give a shit about the people and just want to remain in power and do whatever they want. I just miss what my life was once about. I can't see anymore my friends. No fun, no joy. Just fear and confusion over what can happen next. It seems that almost anything. I don't want to give up, but I don't soon know what else I can do.

Currently Infected Patients

299,529 (100.0%)
in Mild Condition
59 (0.0%)
Serious or Critical

Not even 0.1% are in serious condition and they want to go Nazi on it.

It was never about health

ID: hsgednn

If they can't handle 59 patients in hospital now, how are they going to do it when the economy collapses?

ID: hsgl1ll

Your numbers have no meaning. The politicians have realised that there is financial profit and power in that virus.

It's so weird to me whenever I see what's happening in Europe regarding covid.

Here in Britain we're just vibing, some how we are the freest country this side of the Atlantic. How did that happen?

It's sad what European governments are doing.

Because the EU is an empire

Stupid jaavid nobody likes him anyway

I had a British colleague ask me one time why we Yanks are so married to our guns. Now you know.

ID: hsfj0aq

Agreed. I like my guns here in Canada even if it’s not same as U.S.

ID: hsfjh9o

I don't have guns. I don't want to have guns, but I think people should have the right to bear arms.

In Finland, PhDs in general (and scientists in particular) are awarded an epic top hat and a sword as a symbol to defend what's right and true. What's going on is neither right nor true. Finland has about 50k PhDs comprising a little over 1% of the population. That's a reasonably sized instant army. Someone should shame those fuckers into to doing their duty (or force them to surrender their swords and hats)!

Feds have done an end-run around 2nd amendment: unless you are a millionaire or stocked up on reloading material in the 90s, you cannot afford ammo for anything larger than an airsoft gun.

ID: hsg3xt8

Why do Brits have to call us “yanks?” I feel like it’s a passive-aggressive word.

ID: hsfuiwk

What are citizens going to do with a gun? Shoot law enforcement and the military and instantly become a target?

With a country split 50/50 on anything and with most people unarmed, the government can get away with basically anything.

Life in East Tennessee is almost normal, if you enjoy Smokey Mountains. I enjoyed the movie "Heavy Trip" about Finland.

ID: hsg4om4

God bless Gatlinburg. Being there saved my life last year.

ID: hsgi6gb

is knoxville a decent place?

ID: hsgkm6j

That's a great movie!

Restaurants and bars are allowed to be open until 6 pm

The saddest thing is that many of them ask for a covid pass even though it's not even mandated. Before they could keep the bar open for longer and have more people inside if they only allowed customers with a covid pass in so it made sense financially to ask for the pass, but now it's 50% of capacity at maximum and closed at 6 pm no matter what. Still they ask for the damned pass.

ID: hsftu7t

LOL, they deserve this in that case if they believe their compliance will end this.

ID: hsga4q4

I mean, it's a country that rarely wore masks until late 2020, because government said it does not make sense. Then government reversed its stance, all the people reversed their stance too.

Today is 12 January 2022 and I still see outside maskers, there is no mandate outside, yes even N95.

Things seem to be getting better over in the uk our rules are quite limited and our PM is under alot of pressure from his own party to end the remaining ones

ID: hsg228k

Yay keep up the pressure, nice one bruva!

9 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 04:28:33ID: hsg3jzr

If you're not conspiratorial by now you aren't paying attention. Good luck.

ID: hsgeuy1

A conspiracy theorist is someone who pays attention to history and understands that institutions and "authority" figures didn't all suddenly become good-faith actors 20 years ago.

ID: hsggput

it's no longer a conspiracy.

I pray whoever has the codes just lets them rip already. There's nothing to save at this point

ID: hsg24h0

They probably forgot to lock it

11 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 05:01:31ID: hsg7dy4

Stay strong. I know your mental health is suffering. Many of us are in the same boat. But many of us refuse to simply accept it too. This may very well be a turning point in history.

12 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 05:29:32ID: hsgahkm

Welcome to the New World Order. We need mass noncompliance worldwide to defeat their coup.

13 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 05:53:47ID: hsgd0jr

Thats what happen when the entire upper echelon of the goverment is literally agroup of middle aged Karens.

15 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 05:03:15ID: hsg7kwp

I feel with you. I think that we as humans try to understand the world. And when we are confronted with stuff that doesn't make sense to us AND the world tells us that it makes perfect sense (but we still don't understand it), we get into psychological turmoil. It is like trying to solve an unsolvable puzzle and feeling guilty because we can't make the pieces fit.

16 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 05:33:41ID: hsgaxkx

Don’t let them back you into a corner. Stand your ground, find like minded people, and wake up those who are asleep then unite and fight back.

18 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 06:28:36ID: hsggb3d

Yep. Three or four weeks ago, people were cheerfully predicting that the (alleged) Omicron variant, being so mild, would mark the end of all this pandemic nonsense. I urged them not to hold their breath.

Everyone's still expecting the official word from on high that Everything's Okay and Life Can Finally Return to Normal™. Nope, ain't gonna happen. Without direct opposition on our part, this thing will go on forever and ever and ever.

19 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 06:38:24ID: hsgh70y

Honestly, I don't go to bars or restaurants. I go to the supermarket and that's it. I don't wear a mask. So it doesn't impact me too much.

The same thing is happening here as what has happened everywhere else. There's some groups on signal where you can join, and even meet face to face for coffee. Many, many people feel the same as you.

20 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 06:51:50ID: hsgidwk

I know that this may be seen by some as a low blow, but I have (anecdotally) seen a larger overreaction from leaders who are likely to exhibit higher neuroticism due to their gender. If I take Sweden as an example, we were doing well until we got our first female prime minister.

24 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 04:43:21ID: hsg5adm

Fuk the PM, I actually would tbf.

25 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 07:03:50ID: hsgjerb

26 :Anonymous2022/01/13(Thu) 07:09:13ID: hsgjv86

Force people to work? What’s the justification behind that?

How about not promoting illegal immigration?
