That is some mafia level corruption

ID: hso6jt3

That’s how mafia works

ID: hsnpnix

Mafia level is BUSH LEAGUE compared to standard police corruption.

ID: hsnsp3l

Police corruption is usually involved in mafia stuff

Police stole more from citizens than any criminal did starting in 2013 with civil asset forfeiture. They are the biggest organized gang

ID: hsnwhqs

I’ve personally witnessed a cop stealing personal property. He couldn’t see me because my office windows were reflective on the exterior. And if there were no windows at all, I could have literally touched him, he was that close. He and his partner arrested a man on the sidewalk, and while he was handcuffed, went through his pockets. A knife and handgun went into evidence bags. Everything else (phone, baggies, wallet) went inside the officer’s uniform - he unbuttoned his shirt, put the items inside, and buttoned back up. I called my security guard over (former sheriff) and explained what I’d seen. We called Oakland PD together to report it (him by name, me anonymously). Two weeks later we called for an update and they said there was no record of the report.

Racket.

ID: hso66vq

When I got busted I had$40 in my wallet. The cash never made it to county. Imagine risking a job like that for $40.

ID: hsptb2r

I 100% had a cop steal a very expensive watch from me after a seizure . There were witness but nothing ever came of it. It was an Omega Planet Ocean that I’d waited years to buy and I’ll probably never be able to a purchase anything like that ever again.

ID: hsmo8c8

The best funded most organized street gang to ever exist.

ID: hsopmb4

With union representation and full support of the entire legal system. And a population trained to believe they are soldiers holding the line from evil flesh eating zombies.

ID: hsn4p2y

Too bad the boys killed Cyrus too soon

ID: hsmx1vp

Russia has entered the chat.

ID: hsndmae

First the Man steals from you via wage theft.

Then the Cops steal from you via civil forfeiture.

Petty criminals are fighting for what's left behind.

ID: hsnnics

George Floyd died for maybe possibly passing a counterfeit 20 at a convenience store.

Property is sacrosanct. Protect the store's merch at all costs.

ID: hsnq2cu

Civil asset forfeiture is legalized highway robbery.

ID: hsn3ixd

Considering cops have a similar psychological profile to criminals, this shouldn't be surprising.

ID: hsmwdjx

ID: hsmyw0f

Very true

ID: hsnj4io

still chump change compared to wage theft

ID: hsn7lxq

And I just saw an article we’re they’re gonna give tickets thru our phones…. Fuck this.

ID: hsov3zb

I think you missed the point of that article.

First, you have to opt into the program.

Second, you're not getting a ticket through the phone, you're getting warned that you car is about to be towed unless you take care of it.

It's being used to help people avoid the high costs of having their car towed and recovering it, plus getting people to move their cars instead of being towed for violating the parking rules.

ID: hsnij54

Anyone actually read this article past the headline?

ID: hso4eqo

It's not stealing when it's legal!

4 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 12:26:57ID: hsmccl4

They are going after the investigator who is exposing the cover up, who just quit, stating that the LSP is a criminal organization. This is going to be fun to watch, unlike the video of them killing that man.

ID: hsmpd87

They are going after the investigator who is exposing the cover up

.

ID: hsn4yde

And one of the officers he was investigating was fired and then died in a "single-car crash" a couple of hours later. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but that's the same cause of death they (falsely) applied to the original victim. Crazy story.

ID: hsoozzl

Yea I'm not jumping on that conspiracy bandwagon. He was served his papers so his days of protection were almost out if not already. Decided to end it in a crash to let his wife and/or kids get benefit from it.

ID: hsnmb7b

It would be an unusual suicide method, but I am not quite ready to jump to conspiracies and assume he killed himself because his career was (justly) ruined and he might face criminal charges. I don't know why they would kill the officer who they were breaking the law to protect.

ID: hsopee9

Cops cover up cop suicides all the time to ensure the family receives all benefits, my theory here.

5 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 13:34:02ID: hsmjuc4

More reasons to increase penalties for police officers. Double time for the same crimes. With maximums always mandatory

ID: hsmp8xm

Being a police officer should be an aggravating circumstance in any crime that they are found guilty of committing on the job.

ID: hsn55w1

Double time for the same crimes

I would be happy with the same penalties for the same crimes.

ID: hsnauhx

At a base level, sure, but cops should always automatically have a Malfeasance charge thrown on. Society has entrusted them not just with our safety, but with the monopoly on violence. The breaking of that trust and contract is a crime within itself.

ID: hsnkgk9

Double time? They barely ever get normal time or even charged. Let's start there.

6 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 12:08:14ID: hsmaj04

It’s a Cult within itself, sucks for the men and women who do care about their job.

ID: hsmnyut

A huge bombshell report just came out yesterday outlining 20 years of Baltimore Police failures and corruption and abuse. One of the interesting details had to do with the "clean" cops and the "dirty" cops essentially knowing who was who, and self-selecting to not involve each other in whatever they were doing.

Edit:

ID: hsn0in4

I've seen reports of large groups of officers caught doing shit, and heard about a lot more that didn't make it to the news. Corruption in Baltimore's police has been going on forever. Just search "Baltimore officers charged" and it's quite a list.

Unfortunately our police are incredibly corrupt, and without cleaning house, it's damn near impossible to fix.

ID: hsna93h

If “clean” cops are ignoring the “dirty” cops, then I hate to break it to you, but they’re all dirty.

ID: hsnamp1

Clean cops that tacitly approve of dirty cops ARE dirty cops.

ID: hsmueqh

Watch the HBO documentary The Wire. All that corruption is on there in plain sight!

ID: hsnffkw

Man that’s what I’ve been saying for years about the bullshit “just a few bad apples” defense. The “clean” cops are still doing nothing when seeing others abusing their badge and power to prey on the people they are supposed to be protecting. Nothing clean about that.

ID: hsmpy60

sucks for the men and women who do care about their job

At this point I think most of them have left (or been driven out).

ID: hsmrfrc

Gotta wonder how many of THEM are Oaf Creepers.

ID: hsnkxab

Some of those that work forces..... Are the same that burn crosses ...

7 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 14:34:46ID: hsmrzxu

Thin blue line; “I swear to uphold my fellow officer’s lies and misdeeds, till death do us part!”

Reminder David Duke got 58,000 votes when he ran to replace Vitter. He also tried running for state rep for my hometown. Shit apple doesn’t fall far from the shit greet Randy.

ID: hso7tva

Aw, Mister Lahey… not another night of the Shitabyss, please

ID: hsn9vzz

Georgia’s the same.

Three different prosecutors refused to prosecute the murderers of Ahmaud Arbery, despite seeing the video.

The only reason they were charged were that the murderers were stupid and racist enough to think people would see a black man and think he was the aggressor, and leaked the video to the public themselves.

It is everyone in Louisiana, and I say that as someone who has lived here my whole life. Speaking up and trying to change things doesn't work against a culture that chooses willful ignorance. The best we can do is move away to better place and let the Gulf swallow the state and everyone in it.

ID: hsov32s

Never forget the Danziger Bridge massacre.

ID: hsmzpxm

There's a reason that down here we call it Lousyana.

ID: hsni6tp

Left 40 years ago. Never looked back.

10 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 13:51:15ID: hsmm2ik

I want more than anything to leave this hell state.

ID: hsmmv7c

I wish we lived in a world where culturally rich and deeply diverse places like New Orleans, Turkey, the Philippines, etc were prosperous in general.

ID: hsmxf64

"...prosperous for the general public" which is sort of the whole trickledown part of the status quo. They have mardis gras for Pete's sake--hell, he's probably gone a few times and blown 1,000s of shmeckles.

ID: hsng53t

Moved and never looked back. Only return to for family. I love NOLA but I just can’t.

12 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 14:25:35ID: hsmqpt4

Just a few bad apples..

ID: hsmwc29

No one ever says the second half of that idiom!

It’s “A few bad apples spoil the bunch!”

I.e. everything ends up rotten.

People with thin blue line flags or punisher decals who say this are missing the entire point of the idiom.

14 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 14:00:05ID: hsmn8nn

Yuck. Do they think Hollingsworth was taken out?

ID: hsmx8a9

Looks like no one’s come out and said it but all the articles about the crash strongly suggest suicide to me, he found out he was getting terminated (and probably prosecuted) a few hours earlier.

Murdering the guy would seem pointless when the investigators already had all the body cam footage and his recorded confession to another officer.

15 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 15:57:59ID: hsn4flu

You should check out the Rampart scandal too. This stuff has been going on forever

ID: hso74hb

You mean the Woody Harrelson AMA? I remember that.

ID: hsobfm8

Can we talk about the film tho

16 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 17:12:02ID: hsng030

Anyone who grew up in Louisiana knows that everything from the local governments to the state police are corrupt af. There’s third world countries that seem like utopias compared to us. Thank god I moved.

17 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 16:14:56ID: hsn72bl

Anyone who’s been paying attention to how the police operate for the past 60+ years will not be surprised by this news.

Cops are just boot licking garbage humans.

18 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 15:18:52ID: hsmyht6

I’m sure they feared for their lives during this traffic stop

ID: hsnl56b

I really hope they are now.

19 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 17:07:45ID: hsnfbys

"just cooperate and you won't get shot or beat to death by police!"

Um no, they'll kill you and cover it up. Fuck the police. I know there are good cops but if you were a cop and knew about this and did nothing about it, you're not a good cop. Hard time for all involved.

ID: hso85jk

There are no good cops. There are bad cops, complicit cops, and former cops.

20 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 15:08:24ID: hsmwxkz

Yeah, but he’s just one bad apple…

23 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 20:22:30ID: hso9p4w

Decertify the entire force and rebuild.

24 :Anonymous2022/01/15(Sat) 01:15:08ID: hspg6p5

Time to rebuild from the ground up. And do it differently, this time. Too much good ole boys’ club.

25 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 17:56:33ID: hsnn1wq

what an ugly ass haircut too

26 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 18:47:18ID: hsnuyc1

Well there’s a surprise

27 :Anonymous2022/01/14(Fri) 19:04:29ID: hsnxisp

Shocking news, I'm sure.
